Shanghai's First Victoria's Secret Flagship Store Just Opened
By Bridget O'Donnell
The very first fully-stocked Victoria's Secret shop in China just landed in Shanghai.
The four-floor flagship store (soft) opened to the public yesterday in Xintiandi.
They've got everything from fragrances to clothes (including Pink brand gear) and — of course — their super popular bras and panties. (Now you won't need to worry about where to find lingerie once Marks and Spencer closes!)
Previously, parent company L Brands had opened 26 concept stores around China, as well as five in Hong Kong, selling only "beauty and accessories" (i.e. fragrances, shampoos and bags). This outlet — along with another one that just soft opened in Chengdu — are the first full assortment stores in China. They also opened a Tmall store just around Singles Day last year.
They've also got classic lingerie from previous fashion shows on display in the showcase.
The big grand opening is set to go down March 8. Victoria's Secret Angels — including Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Sui He and Mengyao Xi — will reportedly be in attendance to greet fans.
The lingerie brand is making a big push to China, having first expanded to the area in 2015. The company just recently opened two beauty and accessory stores in Beijing (with a flagship store reportedly coming soon), and a record number of Chinese models appeared on the catwalk at the 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
According to China Daily, the brand also plans to hold its first fashion show in Shanghai later this year. And a promotional video posted to their Instgram account earlier this week announced that they'd be opening another store in Chengdu sometime soon.
